- Project type: New build house in Freeport Main USA
- Client: Private
On the east coast of America in the village of Freeport (Main) is a new build house designed in a contemporary design with an influence of local development. The house consists of three wings; in the middle the living wing with living areas, office and guest room in the tower, a sleeping wing on the west side of this and a guest house with garage on the north side.
The country house has been designed in such a way that it blends in with the landscape and the local architecture. The whole is loosely situated on site and responds to its surroundings. The three wings of the house enclose an outdoor space that forms the entrance to the estate. From here, the country house appears closed, but a glimpse of the ocean can be caught through an opening between the house and the guest house. Once inside, a spacious living space opens up with kitchen, dining room and sitting room under one roof. The large glass wall and a terrace connects with the outdoor space and the spectacular ocean view. The sleeping wing focuses on the intimate garden on the southwest side of the lot.
